Ramadan is a month of reflection, gratitude, and togetherness. One of the most cherished traditions during this holy month is the Majlis Berbuka Puasa (Iftar Banquet), where families, friends, and communities come together to break their fast in an atmosphere of warmth and harmony.

To add a touch of elegance and tradition to the occasion, many hosts, speakers, and guests incorporate pantun (a classic Malay poetic form) into their speeches and conversations.

Here, I’ll be sharing a collection of refined and polished pantun that can be used for various moments in a Majlis Berbuka Puasa.

1) Pantun Alu-Aluan (Welcoming The Guests)

Layar berlabuh di tepi muara,

Menanti malam cahaya rembulan.

Hadirin tiba penuh mesra,

Membawa berkat serta keindahan.an.

Mawar merah mekar berseri,

Menyeri taman indah permai.

Kehadiran tuan amat dihargai,

Moga majlis bertambah damai.

Harum semerbak si bunga cempaka,

Mekar berseri di laman istana.

Hadirin dimuliakan penuh bahagia,

Menjalin ukhuwah dalam suasana.

2) Masa Maghrib (Announcing the Time to Break Fast)

Mentari jatuh ke ufuk barat,

Bulan timbul menghias senja.

Azan berkumandang syahdu mendekat,

Tibalah waktu berbuka puasa.

Mentari senja berlabuh tenang,

Azan bergema syahdu nan merdu.

Saat berbuka telah menjelang,

Bersyukur kita pada Yang Satu.

3) Menjamu Selera (Enjoying The Meal) Nasi beriani lauk dihidang,

Gulai kawah pekat terasa.

Makanlah semua penuh tenang,

Jangan lupa syukur sentiasa.

Kelapa muda di tepi perigi,

Dipotong rapi dihidang segera.

Rezeki dikongsi membina harmoni,

Moga bertambah keberkatan bersama.

4) Pantun Penutup & Ucapan Selamat Jalan (Close The Event)

Terbang tinggi si burung dara,

Hinggap di ranting pohon kenanga.

Sampai jumpa di lain acara,

Semoga semua sihat sejahtera.

Dedaun rimbun tempat berteduh,

Menyegar redup suasana desa.

Salam perpisahan seikhlas penuh,

Moga berjumpa di majlis seterusnya.

Bintang berkelip di langit biru,

Malam damai redup berseri.

Majlis berakhir doa dipadu,

Moga bertemu di lain hari.
